Dear HFMA Sunflower Chapter Membership,
Fall is upon us bringing about the Fall President’s Meeting and news about change! The theme of the Fall President’s Meeting was One Member, One Story, One HFMA. The theme is about change and HFMA National’s desire to create a unified friendly approach for the member to National website and content no matter where they are.
So, what does that mean for you as a member? The Chapters 2.0 initiative will soon be coming to an end. Chapters 2.0 are seven initiatives that were developed to enhance the chapter and chapter volunteer experience. Debi Kuchka-Craig has been the Chair of the Steering Committee leading the charge on these initiatives. There is a link to Chapters 2.0 on our website, www.kshfma.org. Take a look!
The next avenue of change is the event management technology, Cvent. Cvent will be rolled out to all 68 HFMA chapters by the end of calendar year 2018 to provide a uniform easy-to-use platform for event management and reporting. The member experience is promised to be improved with an event website, on-line registration, confirmation e-mails, reminders, and surveys. As you are all aware with technology updates, there are sometimes challenges! Please be patient with us as we work through the challenges when it becomes our turn to implement Cvent.
Project Polaris will be coming in the future. Project Polaris is HFMA’s initiative to transform the traditional association membership model. The business model, technology platforms, and internal structure will fundamentally change to deliver a better experience for audiences. Members will soon be able to choose the tools needed in the way you want to receive them, enabling you to better access, connect, learn, and lead in your organization. National knows that their current website is complex and disjointed. They recognize that their opportunity is changing the culture and increasing the value to the membership. Joe Fifer, HFMA President and CEO, did not provide a time-line as when to expect Polaris but he is excited about the initiative, “we call this initiative Project Polaris, because enabling leaders to meet today’s healthcare challenges while creating a sustainable future is our North Star.”
Please be on the look-out for HFMA Member Satisfaction Survey that should be coming to your in-box on October 12. We welcome your feedback on the survey but would greatly appreciate any feedback during the year that you would like to provide to us.
Save the Date! The Mid-America Summer Institute has been booked, Monday, August 6 – Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in Kansas City. A HFMA Baseball Outing will be held on Tuesday, August 7 when the Kansas City Royals host the Chicago Cubs!
With warmest regards,
Laraine I. Gengler, FHFMA
Sunflower (Kansas) Chapter President.
