As one of my favorite songs from Frank Sinatra is “My Way”, I recall the first couple of lines of the song as written below:
And now the end is near
So I face the final curtain
My friend, I’ll say it clear
I’ll state my case of which I’m certain
It is close to the end of my time as your Region Executive. The upcoming Leadership Training Conference begins the transition to your new leadership team consisting of Kyle Lee and Chris Vairo. It has been a great year and I am very proud of serving you in this regional role and of meeting so many new people from the Chapters.
We have many initiatives which I am proud to say that we have been working on this past year. Here are just a few of them:
- Development and implementation of a new Region 8 Sponsorship Program
- Successful Mid-America Summer Institute
- Active involvement of the newly elected Region Executive (Chris Vairo) subsequent to the Fall President’s Meeting election
- Active participation and roll-out of National’s Chapter 2.0 Program
- Substantial revision to the Region Operating Agreement
As you can see, much work has been done but there is of course more work to be completed. I am 100% confident in Kyle and Chris continuing to move Region 8 forward and maintaining our long-standing position of the best HFMA Region and continuing our innovation initiatives. I will also anxiously await the new Region Executive election which will be held at the upcoming Leadership Training Conference in April that will bring more new ideas and leadership to Region 8.
I want to personally thank the current group of Chapter Presidents for their leadership, time, and commitment. It truly is a part-time job that must be incorporated into their full-time paying positions which takes time away from personal and family time. We have had a great year and it is due to their commitment, bold thinking, and passion for HFMA that has led to these accomplishments. When you see your current Chapter President, please take time to thank them.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve Region 8! I look forward to the new doors within HFMA that await me in whatever capacity that may be presented. THANKS!
